The LAB field guide

Know your finish.
Enjoy your vehicle.

Clear expectations before the work. The right questions at handoff. Care matched to the product actually installed on your vehicle.

Gloss & maintenance

Ceramic coating

Discuss coating when your goal is gloss and easier maintenance. The condition of your paint matters: existing defects may need correction before the coating is applied.

What to confirm before booking

Ask which product and preparation steps are included, whether additional correction is recommended, and what maintenance and warranty requirements apply.

What it does not promise

A coating does not remove existing scratches or make paint damage-proof. Ask whether film is appropriate if road-impact protection is your main priority.

Coverage & road wear

Paint protection film

Film covers selected paint surfaces. The key decision is which areas to cover and which film to use, not simply the lowest entry price.

What to confirm before booking

Request the coverage map, selected film, preparation requirements, edge treatment and applicable manufacturer warranty in your written quote.

After installation

Ask the installer what settling characteristics to expect and when the vehicle can be washed. Do not lift an edge or attempt a repair yourself; contact the team with photos if something concerns you.

Color & individuality

Vinyl wrap

A wrap changes the color or finish of selected panels or the vehicle exterior. The underlying paint condition, film selection and preparation should be assessed before a final quote.

What to confirm before booking

Discuss the film and finish, panel coverage, disassembly, condition of repainted areas and professional removal requirements. View a physical sample before approving a color.

Care is product-specific

Ask for the film manufacturer's approved cleaning methods and products. Matte, satin and gloss finishes may have different requirements; avoid treating them as interchangeable.

Before you drive away

Your handoff checklist

  • Installed product, service scope and invoice.
  • Product-specific cure and first-wash instructions.
  • Approved cleaning products and methods.
  • Applicable warranty terms and registration details.
  • Any inspection or maintenance appointments.
  • A contact for concerns about the completed work.

These guides help you prepare questions. Your installed product's written care instructions take precedence; there is no single cure time or warranty that applies to every package.

Ask your local team.
